Mission

The mission of Rotary is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

WHO WE ARE

Berkeley Rotary is one of 34,282 Rotary clubs worldwide with over 1.2 million members who are your neighbors, community leaders, and global citizens uniting for the common good.  Rotary International brings together leaders from all continents, cultures and occupations who step forward to take on some of the toughest challenges around the world: promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies.

Currently Berkeley Rotary Club has approximately 120 members and growing. Our youngest member is 21 years old; our oldest is 95. We are entrepreneurs, UC Berkeley faculty and staff, technology specialists, doctors, lawyers, investment managers, real estate agents, artists—you name it! Some of our members are “retired” but still very active in their community. Chartered in 1916, Berkeley is one of the oldest Rotary Clubs in the world.

WHAT HAPPENS AT BERKELEY ROTARY We do service – locally and internationally. We clean up parks, plant trees, remodel community centers and schools, provide scholarships, run a free health care clinic, and more! Our club members have learned how to be global citizens by working shoulder-to-shoulder on long-term
projects in Mexico, Guatamala, Russia, and beyond.

We have great speakers – Berkeley is located at the epicenter of education and innovation. At our weekly meetings we get to hear top-notch presentations from experts on a wide range of topics.

We have fun – New to town? Looking to meet new people or expand your network? We have more than 120 new friends for you right here. Join us for lunch, a social activity, or a community service event and feel right at home. Fellowship is one of the great benefits of the Rotary network.
