Ongoing Service Projects
In addition to one-time projects and sponsorships, Berkeley Rotary provides ongoing support for key projects in our community
College scholarships |
Berkeley Rotary funds scholarships and provides mentoring throughout college for deserving students who are the first in their families to attend college |
|
Youth mentoring programs |
Rotarians mentor and work in community service with over 350 youth and postcollege adults yearly with our sponsored Berkeley Interact (high school students), Cal Rotaract (largest Rotaract in the world, based at UC Berkeley) and East Bay Rotaract (post college) |
|
RotaCare Richmond Clinic |
Volunteer medical leadership, regular volunteer support and funds for free health clinic for the uninsured |
|
Dictionaries for all 3rd graders |
Every year we fund and distribute dictionaries to every third-grade student in all Berkeley public schools |
|
Berkeley Kite Festival |
Manage parking and arrange transit to make possible the annual International Kite Festival on the Berkeley marina, drawing 30,000 visitors every July. (In 2020, the Kite Festival was suspended due to COVID-19 concerns. We hope to support the festival when it returns to Berkeley.) |
