In addition to participating in one time projects and sponsorships, a big part of Rotary is having an ongoing commitment to doing going works in the community. 
 
  • College scholarships – Berkeley Rotary funds scholarships and provides mentoring throughout college for deserving students who are the first in their families to attend college
  • Youth mentoring programs – Rotarians mentor and work in community service with over 350 youth and postcollege adults yearly with our sponsored Berkeley Interact (high school students), Cal Rotaract (largest Rotaract in the world, based at UC Berkeley) and East Bay Rotaract (post college)
  • RotaCare Richmond Clinic - Volunteer medical leadership, regular volunteer support and funds for free health clinic for the uninsured
  • Golden Gate Fields Literacy Center – Provide funds and volunteers for center serving low-income Golden Gate Fields workers, many of whom are non-English-speaking
  • Dictionaries to every third-grade student in Berkeley public schools – Fund and distribute annually
  • Berkeley Kite Festival - Manage parking and arrange transit to make possible the annual International Kite Festival on the Berkeley marina, drawing 30,000 visitors every July
  • Tilden Peace Grove – Maintain grove in Tilden Park; each year plant a tree and hold celebration event honoring an individual who has advanced world peace.
