A New Blue and Gold Record Set by Joan Collignon
Better alert Guinness and notify Ripley because—believe it or not—Joan Collignon has completed her Blue & Gold tasks in just 4 weeks! Yes folks, that’s weeks, not months or even a full year, during which newly inducted Berkeley Rotarians are asked to complete 6 out of 9 activities in order to become familiar with the club’s many facets. Joan was inducted on November 16, but because of the holidays her “unpeeling” (removing the “new member” designation on her name badge) was delayed to last Wednesday’s meeting. I’m guessing that Joan was one of those Girl Scouts with all of the badges on her sash—definitely an overachiever! It’s likely that her Blue & Gold record will stand for quite a while.
Warriors Tickets!
Bob Sorenson and Ed Church will be auctioning off two (2) Warriors tickets at the club's regular meeting on January 25. The winning bidder will have his or her choice of either the Sunday, April 2, 5 PM game against Washington or the Tuesday, April 4, 7:30 PM game against Minnesota. The tickets are center court in the upper level: Section 201, Row 5, Seats 7-8. Bring your checkbook on the 25th and let's raise some money for our club!
Alex Glass Steps Down for Health Reasons
At the Jan. 4 meeting, President Maxim read a letter sent by Alex Glass, current President-Elect of the club for 2017/18. For personal health reasons, Alex informed the club he must regrettably resign from his current position and decline the position of President next year.  Maxim announced that Tina Etcheverry is nominated President-Elect for next year, pending confirmation by the Board. We all wish Alex the best and extend our deep appreciation for his service this year as President-Elect.
